Game started off brightly, with Beckham flighting a wonderful free kick, Paraguay team captain Gamarra taking a slight header to put it past his own keeper. 1 - 0 to england.

Paraguay, for a team which would be a warm up team for others. I say a very valiant effort in which could help them win the game. Keeper Bobadilla was keeping everything out. Attacking forces also lack that killer instinct. Apart from Nelson Valdez, the rest were preparing for the lost.
